Hi, we are Prof. Xak from profxakgeocompass-visions.platform. How can we help?
We weave the Buffalo Soldiers’ legacy into GeoCOMPASS Center work in three main ways:
- Story as foundation: We highlight Buffalo Soldiers as early stewards of US national parks, using their history to show that Black service and environmental leadership are deeply connected, not new or peripheral.
- Action, Resilience & Continuity: Their example shapes our core ethos—responding to climate and ecological stress with disciplined action, community resilience, and long-term continuity in projects and training.
- Education & eXplorers programs: Through GeoCOMPASS eXplorers® and GeCCO-RANGERCOMM, we design learning journeys that echo ranger-style service: safeguarding ecosystems, guiding visitors, and honoring under-told legacies in conservation.
Would you like us to focus more on educational programs, youth engagement, or historical interpretation?
