From my time in Tuscany, a few things really crystallised for me:

  1. The value of slowing down: Staying at places like Podere Montisi, away from city centres, reminded me how much richer travel feels when you’re not rushing between “must‑see” sights.
  2. How powerful truly local, sustainable stays can be: Seeing biodynamic farming, olive harvests, and community-focused projects in action reinforced my belief that travel can directly support local people and the environment.
  3. That “offbeat” is often more rewarding than “famous”: Exploring lesser-known towns and hiking trails around the Parco di Travalle showed me that Tuscany’s essence lies well beyond Florence and Pisa.
  4. Alignment with our minimalist values: Tuscany’s simple, seasonal food, historic farmhouses, and nature-first living echoed what we aim for: experiencing more by living with less.

Is there a particular aspect of those Tuscany experiences you’d like me to dive deeper into (sustainability, offbeat itineraries, or the farmstay itself)?
