What inspired Paul RYKEN to travel extensively and explore lesser-known destinations?

For me, it was a mix of curiosity, values, and lifestyle design. Travel started as a love of discovering how other people live, but over time it became a conscious choice to live location-independently and more minimally: owning less, experiencing more.

Lesser-known destinations appeal because they’re usually more authentic, less crowded, and your money tends to support local communities directly. They also challenge your assumptions far more than following the classic tourist trail. That’s where I’ve grown the most as a person.
